The Moroccan OCP stated that small batch DAP sales to Western Europe in September-October were about US $940-1000 / ton FOB. The amount of surplus DAP sold to India as initially reported last week was accurate. A small amount of MAP (less than 5000 t) was also sold to Western Europe at US $970- US $990 / t FOB, with September-October shipment.

OCP offered the lowest price in the TFRA diammonium phosphate tender, and in the DAP tender at TFRA Tanzania on September 6, OCP offered the lowest price, $790 / ton FOB. OCP's offer may reflect a CFR of $830 / ton and a credit period of 180 days. There are five quotations. A source said TFRA had asked for a quote for 20,800 tonnes of diammonium phosphate to be delivered to Dar es Salaam between Oct 20 and Nov 10.

DAP for GCT Tunisia is priced at $880- $950 / ton FOB.

ASIA" Saudi Arabia

Sabic of Saudi Arabia has sold 25, 000 tonnes of MAP to be shipped to the US this month at contract prices.

"Jordan

Jordan has yet to confirm new DAP sales, but the latest indication in some markets prices are down to $825 / ton FOB. The price of the goods to be shipped in October is under discussion.

"India

Indian diammonium phosphate prices fell to $780- $795 / tonne CFR, with at least one new Chinese diammonium deal done at the low end, down from $815- $820 / tonne CFR last week. Trading companies also made other Chinese cargoes this week, at least one of which was priced higher at about $810 / ton CFR or above. Another deal is under discussion at $790 / tonne CFR. About 2.2 million tons of DAP are now scheduled to arrive in September-October. Monsoon rainfall, meanwhile, remained steady, up 5 percent from the long-term average since early June.

NFL, a fertiliser importer in India, did not receive offers in a tender on September 6 for the purchase of up to 100,000 tonnes of DAP. The NFL requires two shipments of black, dark brown or natural color DAP to be shipped by Oct. 10. One shipment was ordered to the east coast of India and the other to the west coast. The NFL requires a minimum quantity of 25,000 tons. RCF seeks Monoammonium phosphate 10-50 Importer RCF is seeking 20,000 tons of MAP10-50 and the tender deadline is September 12.

"China

DAP prices in China fell further this week to $755- $800 / ton FOB due to recent operations in India and Philippines. There were reports this week that several shipments of Chinese DAP were sold to India. At least one sale to major importers shipped in early October traded at $780 CFR/ton, reflecting the lower end of the price range. There were other higher levels of trading earlier in the week. A trading company sold a vessel to India at around $815-820 / ton CFR India, which reflects a net return to $790 / ton FOB and below. In midweek, 8,000 tons of diammonium phosphate was sold to the Philippines through a procurement tender at a reported price of about $800 / ton FOB. But manufacturers say mainstream DAP is quoted at around US $800 / ton FOB, while small-batch DAP shipped in containers to Southeast Asia and Japan is quoted in the US $850-US $920 / ton FOB range. The recent decline in Indian prices is expected to continue to drive down diammonium phosphate prices in China. The supplier is currently loading up to five pre-sold DAP cargoes to Bangladesh in an effort to meet the September 15 deadline.
